Prodigal Kids

This morning I got a real taste of what it's like to work at a Goat Dairy. Well actually, that's probably not fair to say at all. This morning I got to experience one of the best parts of working at a Goat Dairy:

Babies!!! The proper name for a baby goat is actually kid and at Prodigal they have 104 kids (as of this morning). It's a lot for a small farm to handle so when their call for help went out, I was all over it!

Ever since my visit to Prodigal in October (click here to read that post), I have taken to calling Prodigal "my goat farm". Kat and Dave are wonderful people (and I run into them all over the place), their products are delicious, and their weekly newsletters are the best! They keep you up to date on what will be available at the market, but also life on the farm. From their Vogue photo shoots (seriously, try to find their March 7th update) to capturing the life-cycle on the farm, the email always brightens my day.

The past few weeks' newsletters have been extra special because "It's raining babies"! That was the quote from last weeks issue after they had 10 kids born in two days. That was the same newsletter that issued the official call for help feeding baby goats.

Cameron, and most of my friends hubbies, are in the midst of finals so I emailed a couple of the girls that I know work irregular schedules (non 9-5'ers) and we headed out to Prodigal bright and early this morning to feed the kids. It was messy, but oh so fun getting to cuddle with all those little boys and girls:
