August completely flew by! We have been having a really good time getting settled into our lives here in Durham, but not without a bit of stress here and there. Cameron has those "Oh no, what did I get myself into?!" moments and I have those, "Oh no, I still don't have a job!" moments. One way or another, we are able to stay optimistic and enjoy ourselves.
Last night we helped support Habitat for Humanity by attending a Durham Bulls baseball game. First, we stopped for beers at Tyler's Taproom located in the American Tobacco Historic District:
Tyler's has quickly become one of our favorite bars in the area. They have a huge wall of taps that include favorites like Delirium and Allagash as well as local brews. Last night I thought it was appropriate to drink the Carolina Bullpen Pale Ale, delicious! From Tyler's we headed across the street to the home of the 2009 Triple-A National Champions, The Durham Bulls!
Although it's a bit smaller than what we're used to, we enjoyed being so close to the action, and we had plenty to cheer about as Durham beat Charlotte in a 5-2 win.
Seeing as how September is upon us we have spent the day in our respective bubbles. Cameron is working hard on his pre-coursework and I have been job searching. He starts classes next week so we are going to try to take a day trip tomorrow or Friday and will be sure to take pictures to share. In the meantime I leave you with this last photo of Riley:
