Last weekend I was on the phone with my dad and he asked, "what are you doing?". I responded, "sitting on the porch, enjoying the 75 degree sunny day, reading a book. What are you guys up to?". This is where it got funny. He responded, "Well, I went ice fishing this morning and Elaine just got back from snow shoeing with Bella. We got 4 or 5 inches of snow this morning." WOW, what a difference 800 miles can make!
The better the weather gets, the worse I seem to get about blogging. Besides being really busy traveling for work, Cameron and I have been focused on spring break. He finished finals on Friday and we are heading to Miami later this week. In addition to that trip, I decided that it's a great time to explore the Triangle a little bit more. Cameron and I were out and about on Friday night in Raleigh for First Friday and spent the night downtown. We started with cocktails at The Raleigh Times then went to Poole's for dinner - so delicious! Saturday morning we ate breakfast/lunch at Mecca and then wandered around the Historic Oakwood neighborhood. It was beautiful! The trees are blooming and daffodils are swaying merrily in the breeze.
We are both excited for our beach vacation, but equally as excited to explore North Carolina. We're hoping to make a quick trip to Wilmington and if we don't make it to the mountains during spring break then we'll probably plan a weekend trip for sometime later this spring. I recognize that I haven't been too good about blogging lately, but I assure you that I haven't given up on it. I think about it, and my readers a lot. Stay tuned.
