Not the Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Taxes, yuck! I hate to break my blog silence with a negative post, but I have had the worst day ever and it all started with trying to get my taxes done at H&R Block. I had the most wonderful accountant in New York. Sure, it took forever to get an appointment and I had to rent a car to make the drive out to Brooklyn, but we were in and out. My taxes took maybe 30 minutes and he'd see Cameron right after me for another 20 minutes or so. Then, BONUS, we'd hit Target on our way back to the city. 

So here I am in NC and I'm thinking, there's no way that I can mail Charlie (my NYC guy) my info- he probably can't even file NC State taxes so I'll just go to H&R Block. They have those great commercials about how easy it is and how they get everyone oodles of money back in returns every year. Well, my one hour appointment turned into 2.5 hours and if the woman hit the Help key one more time I was going to scream. About seven supplements, addendums, and schedules later she told me I owed her nearly $500! Needless to say I opted NOT to file and booked a follow up appointment. Which, after getting in my car and screaming, I cancelled... TurboTax here I come!
