I color code my electronic calendar, green for work, blue for personal, red for Duke (hmph, I should probably switch that to blue for Duke) and I like to enter just about everything into my calendar because I don't have the best memory. This past week's calendar looked like a toddler got a hold of it and finger painted away. It was a seriously busy week and I feel bad that I didn't blog more, but here's your chance to get caught up a bit.
Monday night the ladies and I checked out Dos Perros' Monday Taco and $5 'Rita Night. Affordable, delicious and a really good time. Tuesday was chock-full of work meetings and then I led a private tour in Durham Tuesday night. Wednesday was another busy work day followed by a Fuqua Talks session in which prospective students joined current partners and an admissions counselor in a live Q&A online chat session. It's really exciting getting to talk to prospective students and partners of the class of 2013. It doesn't seem possible that it was an entire year ago that I was in their shoes and I remember the feeling really well. Thursday was another day of meetings and then I joined my boss, one of our tour guides, a Raleigh CVB woman, and the Yelp Community Manager for a test tour in Raleigh. We wanted to run through our Valentine's Day (night) Tour and make sure that our timing was right, the amount of food and drink was appropriate and brainstorm ways to make the tour really fun and special. As you can imagine, it was a blast! Friday's are always pretty busy days making sure that everything is in order for the weekend tours, but I always make sure I'm done working in time for Fuqua Friday. Last nights FF was followed by a lively Rock Band jam session at a good friend's apartment. Morning came a little too fast, especially because Saturdays we have tours running in every city and there's some pre-tour coordination that takes place in Chapel Hill, Carrboro and Durham, but today was extra special because once those errands were done I met up with my boss, Lesley and one of our tour guides who is going to be getting more involved in helping to grow TC, Susan. We were running a test tour in a new town!
We are definitely moving forward with the new tour, it's going to be really great, but for now it's Top Secret. There is so much about the new town and the restaurants/bars/shops in that town that I want to share with all of you, but you'll have to wait a few more weeks until we officially launch it.
To top off what was a really great, really busy week, Cameron and I went to the Duke vs. NC State game tonight. Duke won by a landslide and we burned lots of calories jumping up and down and cheering our hearts out.
I don't know what is reflected on our faces, but there we are at Cameron Indoor. It really is a special place, full of energy, Cameron Crazies and lots of championship banners :)
