Oh Christmas, how you sweep me away, and make the days seem so short. I can't believe that we are only 12 days away from Christmas. There's still so much to do! I'm feeling very festive though, and that's not only due to how cute the apartment is looking nowadays, see the last blog post, but also because we had prom last weekend, I threw a Secret Santa/Holiday party this week, and just got back from a cookie swap with friends. I know, I know, you're all thinking, "What?! You lost me at prom?". Graduate programs (and law school, etc.) has an annual semi-formal/formal night out. Fuqua is no different. Our prom was last weekend and it was a masquerade ball, so fun! Here's the pictures from the photo booth. There are more on my Facebook account if you'd like to check those out.

Next on my list of things that kept me really busy in December was the Secret Santa/Holiday party that I held this past weekend. I invited a whole bunch of the girls that I have met at Duke so far and set up a Secret Santa gift exchange. Rather than participating in the exchange I decided to cook up a storm and make everyone a Christmas ornament. Duke Blue Angels for all of my girls:
They were really quite easy, 2" wired ribbon, jewels, stapler, glue gun and jingle bells. As for cooking up a storm, I didn't get any pictures of that, but some may show up on Facebook. I made stuffed mushrooms, raspberry and pecan baked brie, sweet onion thumbprints, festive punch, and homemade teriyaki meatballs. My memere always has meatballs at her holiday party so I just had to make some for my own party. The night was a blast and it was wonderful to see how many great friends I have made in such a short amount of time.
The last, but of course, not the least thing that was keeping me busy was tonight's cookie swap. A good friend hosted the get together and I decided to make my favorite holiday cookie, Rosemary Shortbread Cookies. My uncles make them every year and they are delicious. It was a bit more difficult than I imagined, but they ended up being delicious and I think Mark and Jim would be proud:
So there's what I've been up to for the past couple of weeks. Cameron has been busy finishing classes and he's currently taking finals. He promises that he'll guest blog as soon as he's done with school. Now that I published it, he's going to have to stick to it.
I'm sure I'll be posting again before the holidays, but as always, thanks for reading!
